There is a multi-volume German compilation in major US libraries called "Hetrina" detailing the Hessian soldiers unit records (enlistment and service). There is also a quarterly publication by the Johannes Schwalm foundation which has a lot of information on the Hessians soldiers who stayed in America. I subscribed for a couple years as I have one who was a prisoner of war at the Hessian barracks in Frederick MD and married a local girl. They lived across the river in Loudoun Co. VA. The area had been settled by many Germans so the Hessians blended in very well. If you want the name and address of the Schwalm publication, I can dig it out of my file - Ruth Illinois ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mary Ann Shoemaker" <maryshoe@cox.net> To: <MD-FRED-GEN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, June 04, 2002 4:08 PM Subject: Re: [MDFred] hessian soldiers and bachman valley > Thanks for replying..
