I found a reference to Elizabeth Barker, aged 48 yrs, who had been a deponent in a land dispute surrounding the recording of a deed. The actual date of the deposition is not recounted in the deed, though at the end of the instrument, the final deposition date for the others cited is April 1, 1768. Elizabeth Barker recounted how about 20 yrs prior, she was in the company of her FATHER Gerah (sic) Davis, and her then husband John Harding. This was all recorded in Frederick DB L, pp. 518-520. They were on the east side of Monocacy creek near Giddin's Ford, and the two men gestured across the creek to the left of the ford, and mentioned that a tree standing marked a boundary of the Hazeltine property. The land in question was that of Humphrey Hazeltine/Hazeldine. From this instrument, I think you can deduce that a.) Gerah/Gerrard Davis had a daughter Elizabeth, born ca. 1720, who'd been married to a John Harding in the late 1740s, and by the late 1760s had been married to a Barker, and b.) Gerah/Gerrard Davis owned property near Giddins Ford, near the farm of Humphrey Hazeltine, in the late 1740s. Not knowing much about your Gerrard Davis' family, I'm guessing that daughter Elizabeth Davis was married to John Harding ca. 1740-45. Hope this doesn't duplicate anything you already know.
