    3. I am trying to connect Jacob E. Burns of Frederick County, Maryland to his father. I have established these facts regarding Jacob: * 22 May 1846 - born Frederick MD (date supported by death cert, 1900 census, enlistment) * 11 Jan 1867 - enlisted at Frederick MD * 11 Jan 1870 - discharged * 1870 Census - believed to be living in George Leatherman's household in Jackson Frederick MD * 1872 - married Mary E. Gaver (still looking for marriage record) * 1873-1899 - 12 children born Cumberland Allegany MD * 1880 Census - living in Beallville Frederick MD * 25 Oct 1897 - applied for pension Cumberland Allegany MD * 04 Feb 1913 - died Cumberland Allegany MD I have confirmed that Jacob E. Burns is NOT the son of Jacob and Elizabeth (Craumer/Crammer) Burns, as listed in the 1860 Census of Manchester Carroll MD. Jacob and Catherine's son was John Jacob Burns, born 29 Jun 1844 MD, christened 19 Jan 1846 in Manchester, died 12 Dec 1928 Jefferson York PA, married Delilah. I have not been able to find Jacob E. Burns in the 1860 census; however, I believe in the 1850 census he is listed with John and Catherine Burns in Catoctin Frederick MD. I am trying to confirm that John and Catherine are Jacob's parents. Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated. Carolyn Johnson Burns carolynjburns@woh.rr.com
