Hello June, Sorry, my husband is the West, and his people came from Ohio. But, I will tell you this, there was a Gentleman, a person of quality, on the Arc and the Dove. That was the first ship to Maryland from England c. 1634. There are list of names and lots of information at: <www.usgenweb.com> Eastern Shore Counties like St. Mary's. You may also use their archives on the first page that comes up, just to the right USGW Archives. I will also look in some of my Maryland books for them. Can you provide an approximate date for her birth or marriage. Thanks, Helen
Hi Barbara, My "brick wall" ;-) is in Washington County in 1811 when William GLANDON married Mary Magdalene PEACOCK at St John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hagarstown. William probably came from Mars <g>. Mary Peacock's father was Neal or Robert or Eli and fought in the Rev. War from Washington County, MD. I think maybe that Neal Peacock married a Susannah BLICKENSTAFF or BLICKENSDOERFER somewhere in the area about 1785 - 1790. Susan Blick...... had kin in Fredrick County and ? Peacock was shown in Marsh Hundred both 1800 and 1810. ============= Does your book contain any; BLICKENSTAFF or BLICKENSDOERFER, Ulrich or Abraham or..... GLANDON, William PEACOCK, Neal or Robert or Elio thanks a bunch for your efforts. Jim

Barbara, I found several CHRIST buried at the Schafferstown Cemetery just east of (oh boy) I have to find my notes on that trip not 2 months back. It's south of MYERSTOWN, and is very close to the Lebanon / Berks County border, about 6 miles south below Amity Acres if you took the old farm roads. It might have been Route ?? 214 ??. This church dates back to the 1700's with a graveyard behind it, but on a steep inclined hill. I remember these stones well, because of the name CHRIST. I've got to get all of my records filed properly, but let me look for my notes from that day. I can then tell you the exact name of the church and cemetery and it's location. It was a Luthern Reformed, that much I do remember and there were MOYER ROYER EMMERICK and tons of others buried there, as well. But for now, from FREDERICK MARYLAND EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH The Marriages Pg 18 - March 31, 1778 Johannes REUTENAUER, Georg REUTENAUER'S son and Elisabeth ZELLERIN, Johannes ZELLER's daughter, both residing in Turkey Valley on Little Hunting Creek. PROCL: Mar 15, 22, 29. Witnesses were Jacob CHRIST, David LEFEVER, Joh. BALSEN, Jacob REUTENAUER, Maria Rosina MORGENSTERIN and Catharina HEUNIGEN. Pg 59 - Aug 22, 1789 Eliszabeth CHRIST and JacobBUCHER by license. Pg 61 - Mar 5, 1797 Chas. CATEROW and Catharine CHRIST by license in the house of David LEVY in the presence of George CATEROW, Peter CHRIST and Adam NEAT. Pg 62 - Feb 27, 1798 John Henry DEVILBISS and Maria Catharine CHRIST by licence in the house of the "Elder" DEVILBISS. Pg 65 - July 21, 1801 Mr. George ZIMMERMANN and Elisabeth PATTERSON, both of Frederick County by license in the presence of witnesses Michael ZIMMERMAN, Margaretha CHRIST and Barbara ZIMMERMANN in the house of Mr. KEINERT. Pg 66 - Dec 8, 1801 Mr. Johann Samuel MILLER and Miss Margaretha CHRIST both from Frederick County by license in the presence of Mr. John LUC and some relatives in the house of Mr. Samuel MUELLER, Sr. on Market Street. THE BURIALS Jan 13 1781, Johannes HUMMEL, b Mar 1743, m. 1st Jacob CHRIST'S daughter Barbara, 2) KUHN'S daughter, 3) after whose death he m. on Aug 13, 1771 to Philipp GRINDLER'S daughter with whom he had 3 children and 2 daughters of whom 1 son and 2 daughters are still alive. Died the 12th of a feverous disease, aged 38 years, less 2 months. Dec 6, 1804, buried Joh. Petr. CHRIST, b Oct 20, Father Peter CHRIST and mother Margaretha. Became sick with fever 9 weeks and died Nov 26 at 9AM aged 12 years, 2 months and some days. Cindy, I have some HOFFMAN'S married to my MIER/MYER'S from Old Monocacy, Frederick Co., MD. Don't know how much I can help you, but I'll print out your posting below and look in the few reference books I have in for the old settlement. I do have 1 question for you and ALL here. I've never heard of the Getzendanner Cemetery - by chance, do you or anyone on this list know exactly where this cemetery is located? You're correct, what a generous offer.
Hi Barbara, What a generous offer! Thanks. Could you look and see if there is anything on Thomas Samuel Pole or Frances Hayward? Peggy McClanahan
Barbara, Could you check your book for any mention of a Frederick Crabbs or his family? I have been trying to find out who the children of Frederick & his wife Catherine (Ohler) Crabbs were. I went to the Carroll County Hist. Soc and also the one in Frederick County and neither place had a file on the Crabbs Family. Thank you so much for checking your book.
