I checked the Will Index for you. None of the Tucker's listed are the ones you are looking for. However, according to your records, John Tucker was only 20-years-old. I found a listing for a Rachael Tucker. Her will was probated in 1836. This may be worth investigating. In the event that you are interested, here is the listing: TUCKER, RACHAEL Liber/Folio GME-2-120 Probated - 05 Jan. 1836 Executor - Richard Tucker, al By the way, my mother was born in Point of Rocks, so I am doing some work there also. Her mother and her grandparents lived there before her. I also have Holdcraft's 70,000 Names in Stone if you need a cemetery lookup for Frederick County. Jeanne
Would you have a listing for JOHN TUCKER 1777 to 1797, children names SARAH, JAMES,JOHN , MARY , STEPHAN ? Point of Rocks ,MD. That is all the info I have. Hopefully, A. Duncan in Cal.
I used to run with an Oster about 25 years ago. John Laughland Frederick, MD

Sorry for the double posting, didn't realize I had sent the same message twice. Lee Ripperger
Artis: My Bowers (as far back as I have made it thus far) show a George Bowers in Maryland as his son Leonard was born there in fall of 1760. Leonard fought in Rev. War and then went to Tenn. where he married Rebecca Nave in 1785 and they were primarily in Carter County, Tenn and surrounding areas and a number of them came to Missouri. As far as I know the Bowers were Baptists as Leonard, his brothers and several members down the line were Baptist preachers. I have not found any relation in Ky. or any connection to a POWERS at this time, but then who knows how people spelled things or what they thought they heard (even today that happens), so there is a possibility. We did have some POWERS here in Missouri and there are probably some descendants in our local area, but we have never made any connection thus far. If you come up with anything, be sure to let me know. Lee Ripperger

Every time I see the name Bowers, I get the feeling it is another variation of the name Powers. Have you considered this or am I way off base? When and if I ever find time, I need to look into this. My Power(s) family was early 17th century Catholic settlers in St. Marys Co. They migrated to Nelson Co. KY by early 1800s, then settled in Hancock and Daviess Co. Was your Bowers Protestant? They could have moved north because of their religion. Artis Powers So. Hi listers, A few weeks ago someone answered my querry for Ethel Doyle with an email about someone they called "Aunt Ethel ", who they didn't know if she was family or friend. I responded, but due to computer problems and a program called "Go Back" all traces of that exchange were lost. I hoped to hear from her again by now. But since I haven't, I thought I'd email and ask her to contact me again. Ethel is listed in an obit of my fathers grandfather as a step-daughter. Anyone else who might know about her is welcome to respond, too! Thank you! Marcia Hartman
