I did not remember from Kathy's posting that Charles's father was John. I only found one Albiker birth in the 1880 and 1881 Index. I really thought I had it till I got to the record and found a surprise - a female child! I'll give it another shot the end of next week when I have more time to look for Charles' record. However it is not a good sign that I only saw one Albiker listed on my quickie search. My grandfather born 9/14/1881 is missing from the index. I suspect the midwives didn't get them all recorded. I hope yours is there next time I look. I'll give you the details of this one anyway; she is a cousin of Charles Albiker, daughter of his brother John. Roll: CR 48,428; Record Number: A47172; Number of child of this mother: 2; Sex: female; Race: white; Date of birth: April 29, 1881; Place of birth: Parish St No. 22; Full name of mother: Anney E. Englehart; Maiden name: Anney E. Albiker; Mother's birth place: Baltimore; Father: George Albiker; Father's occupation: butcher; Father's birth place: Baltimore; Medical attendant: Mrs S. Kelley, 792 Pratt St (On this record midwife recorded the maiden name and married name reversed.) Jean Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
