They arrived with four children and in 1836 my ggggrandfather was born in Baltimore, MD according to the Civil War pension papers filled out by him. The family moved to York Co., PA had three more children and then moved to Van Buren Co., IA and had their last son. A daughter married in York Co., PA in a Lutheran Church in 1846 and one of the eldest sons was a minister in a German Methodist Church in Van Buren Co., IA. This all being stated to lead to finding the possible church in which the son born in Baltimore, MD might have been baptised. If anyone on the list can advise me, what churches were in existence and still continue to have records from baptisms in the year 1836. I am looking for a baptism for William H. Weire born 28 February 1836. Parents: Christian Ludwig Weire and Maria Wilhelmina Stebensen Weire they are both listed as born in Ebershuets, Germany on their grave marker and Hesse Kassel is listed on the census.
