    1. [MD-BALTIMORECITY] REDING family
    2. LOCKETT,RONALD E
    3. I am trying to find information on my elusive REDING ancestors. John Reding (Reading)is first found on the 1860 census, 7th ward, Baltimore City. In the household were: Dorada Monday, 57, Saxony, John Reading, 27, Hesse Anna Reading, 30, Bavaria Frederick Reading, 9, Maryland Caroline Reading, 7, Maryland Elizabeth Reading, 48, Hesse 1870 census Redding, John, 38, Hesse Darmstadt Anna, 38, Hesse Darmstadt Caroline, 17, Maryland (invalid) Barbara, 14, Maryland John, 9, Maryland August, 7, Maryland Elizabeth, 5, Maryland Rosa, 2, Maryland By the 1880 census John Reding and his children are now with his second wife Christina and her children (surname ZULAUF). The 1900 census has John, Christina, their two sons Charles and Louis and granddaughter Mary Schultz. this census also says John was born in Missouri and his birth is July 1827. The 1910 census has John, Christina and granddaughter Mary Schultz. this one says John was born in Germany and immigrated in 1827. I have John's death certificate. It says he was born 30 July 1832 in Germany. He died 27 April 1917 in Highlandtown. They lived at 313 S. third Street. His obituary says he was 84 years old so that goes along with the birthdate on the death certificate. The only children I've been able to trace (from first marriage) are Elizabeth (1865-?) who married Louis Deise and Rosa (1868-1889). Any information on this or related families would be very much appreciated. This is my biggest brickwall.
