However a few years ago, I came across a will in the York County Archives, the will was for a Lewis Small and in the will is listed a daughter Elizabeth, wife of James Perago. At the time, they wouldn't allow me to make a copy of this will, so I don't have a copy of that document today. This discovery, however, caused me to do some research on this Small family (Small which may account for the 'S' as James Perago's middle initial.) I found that this Elizabeth Small (born Martha Elizabeth Small)had been living in Baltimore with some older siblings between 1810 and 1820 so is it may be possible that she met a James Perago in Baltimore, married and had a son James S Perago on 2-18-1819?? I couldn't seem to find her or this elder James Perago anywhere afterwards in York Co or Maryland, other than mentioned in this Small will. So did this Elizabeth Small Perago die soon after the birth of her son ?? or did this marriage to this older James Perago end up in divorce ?? I don't know and unfortunately, have not had the chance to pursue this Small family route any further. Food for thought?? Now I'm itching to get to York and do some research on this Small line again!! Keith H Perago Harrisburg, PA (I descend thru James S Perago's youngest son, Kerwin, by his second marriage)
