Greetings to you all! This is a great opportunity that should not be passed up! As a list member of several other lists, I'd like to share what we have done in the past to accomplish just such a project. If someone with a good scanner could scan the records, they could then be delegated electronically to those of us wishing to help transcribe the records. The transcribed record data could then be uploaded into a searchable database online, or at the least, create searchable PDF files and those of us willing to conduct such searches, could look up names of loved ones for those interested and pass along the search results. "Many hands make light work" is a great old adage to apply here. In the alternative, I have a fantastic scanner if someone was willing to photocopy the card file and send it to me, I would be more than happy to coordinate the project or help in any way. Please let me know your thoughts. Feel free to email me privately at "sconner4@neo.rr.com" if you prefer.
