The pin is from Mount de Sales Academy, which at that time was a boarding school run by the Visitatin nuns. I'm sure some students commuted and did not board. The school still exists but the Visitation order relinquished control about 30 yrs ago as their members were all quite elderly. It is now run by a school board and administered by the Dominican Sisters of Nashville. The address is 700 Academy Rd., Catonsville, MD 21228. They have pictures of the graduating classes hanging in the main hall. If the owner of the pin was a relative, you might be able to get a copy of the class picture. The pins changed every few years. If the shield is a pierced heart and cross, that is the shield of the Visitation order.
