    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Barnhill Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/AFB.2ACI/4785 Message Board Post: I received the following message addressed to my husband. I checked it out and it appears legitimate. If anyone knows the family of PFC Larry M. Barnhill, killed in action in VietNam at the age of 19, let them know that someone is selling his medals on eBay. I also found the following: As a member of the Army, PFC Barnhill served our country until December 5th, 1966 in A-WO Warrant Officer, South Vietnam. He was 19 years old and was not married. Larry died from small arms fire/grenade. His body was recovered. Larry was born on May 4th, 1947 in Baltimore, Maryland. PFC Barnhill is on panel 13E, line 013 of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. He served our country for one year. http://www.tanaya.net/cgi-bin/vmw.cgi?2555 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Jim Johnson here. I served my counrty proudly in the Princess Mary's Light Infantry with the Candian Scottish Reginment. It is upseting to find out that someone is selling off a dead US soldiers medals of valor on ebay. He was killed in action in Vietnam at only 19 years old. This act is totally disrespectful to this young solidiers memory and the sacrafice he made to his country. I am disgusted that someone would have the nerve to sell a KIA soldiers medals for money and profiteering! According to my research the medals belonged to a certain Private First Class Larry M Barnhill who is is burried at the OAk Lawn Cematary in East Baltimore, in Greenway Section, Lot 83, Space 3 He served the USA his country in Vietnam and earned a Purple Heart. And he was KIA there, here is a web site about him: http://www.11thcavnam.com/KIAs/Barnhill.htm I feel strongly that they should go to his family members, or cousins, or someone in the family who will appriaicted his contribution. I think the US Government should get them and donate them to a legion in his home town, or a war museum if there is no family left. Please take a look on ebay item #230048607618 or simply go here to the ebay link: http://cgi.ebay.com/VIETNAM-KIA-NAMED-PURPLE-HEART-SILVER-STAR-MEDAL-GROUP_W0QQitemZ230048607618QQihZ013QQcategoryZ36063QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem If you can locate any of this soldiers family please do so quickly before this auction ends. I will send this seller an email telling him I am doing everything I can to locate the owners family members. Larry is not with us now, and cannot speak for himself, but I bet he would not be pleased with some one profiting from his death in Nam! Thank you for your help with this, I tried all night to locate a family member but worry that this auction will end and they will be lost to some arm chair military collector who is only interested in the value of them. Blessings to you and your family, and also to all our brothers and sisters who are overseas with the military right now. Thank you for your help with this matter. Warm regards, JIM
