Reply to Treenut: Thank you for the followup. It possibly could be him (alth' I have a different birthdate). My grandmom's step-mom/aunt - Katie was a Catherine I'll have to dig up her birthdate if I have it. I remember when she died years ago, no one seemed to know what her age was. John Duvall's 1st wife was named Annie or Anna (my grandmom's mom whose maiden name I had never heard)) and John supposively married his wife's sister Katie (my grandmom'saunt) Possibly August was related to John Duvall's 1st wife. Others listed in the 1900 census where John is listed as a widow are daughters: Lillie, Maggie (my grandmom) Sylvester, Arthur, Adelaide; housekeeper Kate Bird; Boarders: Esther Bird, August Poster, Annie Brown, Alice Unthanks, Laura Chaney and Francis (or Frannie) Davis. (Census 1900 - Baltimore, Maryland 13th day of June 1900, Second Precinct, Supv. Dist 3, Enum Dist 20, Sheet No. 21.) At Maryland Archives in Annapolis, I found a 3 x 5 index card (can't find my notes, but a different spelling) re immigration and went through the book (Balto.? Court) they gave me but we couldn't find any reference in the book to him or any name close to the variable spellings..
