Surnames: Perago, Sponsler Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/AFB.2ACI/3471.1.1 Message Board Post: Hi Jeffrey. I'm looking for James Perago, too, born about 1825 in Maryland, married to Mary. I think there may have been two James/Mary Perago families, though, and maybe you can help me clear up some confusion. I see on the 1850 Census James and Mary having four children: John age 6, Sarah age 4, William age 2, and Caroline age 3 months. None of these children show on the 1860 Census, which I'm sure are "my" Perago's (James age 29, Mary age 24, and Charles age 10 months). Is it possible that the children on the 1850 Census either died or were living in another home? I descend from Ida Perago, born about 1862, daughter of James and Mary. She married J. Victor Sponsler. What's your connection to the Perago family?
