Here's a chance to ask an expert. Attendees at the upcoming FGS conference in Boston (http://www.fgsconference.blogspot.com/<http://www.fgsconference.blogspotcom/>) will be able to meet for 20 minutes with an experienced genealogist to brainstorm ways to break through the brick wall blocking their research. Attendees are asked to prepare a concise written statement of one problem and bring it when they sign up for an appointment. Sign up time will be Thursday, August 31, between 9 am and 5 pm in the APG Ancestors Road Show area of the Exhibit Hall at the Hynes Convention Center. Road Show appointments will be held in the Exhibit Hall on Friday from 9 am to 5 pm and Saturday from 9 am to 3 pm. Sponsored by the Association of Professional Genealogists (www.apgen.org<http://www.apgen.org/> <http://www.apgen.org/<http://www.apgen.org/>> ) and hosted by the Greater Boston Chapter of APG, the Ancestors Road Show concept has been very popular at other conferences. This is the first time it will be held at a national conference. Over 60 genealogists, including many who are nationally known, will be volunteering their time for this event covering such topics as American court records, Irish research, National Archives records, problem solving techniques, dating and identifying old photographs, lineage applications, British Isles research, general genealogy, forensic genealogy, military records, Quaker research, Loyalist studies, Internet research, immigration, census research, naturalization records, Swedish & Danish research, land records, Italian family history, Cherokee research, Canadian research, reading early American handwriting, Polish research, land records, missing heir searches, land platting, neighborhood reconstruction, Jewish genealogy, as well most regions of the United States.
