Here is more history from http://www.mdarchives.state.md.us/msa/mdmanual/16dhmh/html/16agenph.html As Kathi Jones-Hudson wrote, you will not be able to get any records. Especially with current privacy laws, you are not likely to get records today from any health facility. John ROSEWOOD CENTER Rosewood Lane, Owings Mills, MD 21117 Rosewood Center was established in 1888 as the Asylum and Training School for the Feeble Minded of the State of Maryland (Chapter 183, Acts of 1888). The Asylum and Training School first admitted children in 1889. From 1912 to 1961, it was known as Rosewood State Training School. In 1961, the School became Rosewood State Hospital (Chapter 89, Acts of 1961). When the State Department of Health merged with the Department of Mental Hygiene in 1969, the Hospital was renamed Rosewood Center. The Center provides for the care, education, training, and habilitation of persons with mental retardation from Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Harford and Howard counties and Baltimore City. Specialized services to manage behavior also are available. Rosewood is funded to serve a daily average of 290 residents (Code Health - General Article, sec. 7-305). -----Original Message----- From: g bolt [mailto:Gbolt549@msn.com] Sent: Wednesday, August 23, 2006 7:41 PM To: MD-BaltimoreCity-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [MD-BaltimoreCity] Rosewood Training School Does anyone know where I can get the records for Rosewood Training School? ============================== Search Family and Local Histories for stories about your family and the areas they lived. Hello List! I am trying to obtain cemetery records from the 1st Evangelical Cemetery. I have written twice to them with never a response. Has anyone else had any luck in obtaining records from there? Liz
