The SSDI indicates that she was born 24 Aug 1899 in MD. Her age was 29 in the June 1930 census, since she was born in August that indicates 1900 as the year of her birth instead of 1899 as reported on the SSDI. I have not found parents for her. Today I found John & Kate Weber in the 1900 census but they did not have Catherine listed yet. I didn't find them in 1910. Could my Catherine be their child? Do you have the family in 1910 and is Catherine 10 years old? Other information for my Catherine is that she married Charles Henry Aburn. I hope we can identify whether this is the same Catherine. The answer is YES!. Just as a general rule, always check the original record. In this case, there are lots of additional reasons. One is that there are a few mistakes in the on-line database (it has been transcribed several times). Since I'm partially responsible for the posting, I have no qualms about telling you there are typos and other errors. Secondly, there is a lot more to the original records than posted on the MdGenSoc web site. Finally, there are records for St. Paul's Fifth German Reformed congregation which are at the archive that were never microfilmed. So, by all means visit the E&R Archive in Lancaster. By the way, if you search the archive for this mailing list, you will find quite a number of posts by me discussing additional details about St. Paul's and other German-language congregations in Baltimore City. It is very nice, easy on the eyes. I did note that one of your Rupperts lived a block up on Eastern Ave from my Muhlenfelds (M?hlenfeld). In 1889 the address was 333. Years later the house number was 2019. I figured the city renumbered the houses. I always try to imagine the children playing on the streets, and perhaps our relatives knew each other.
