Hi, One of the families I am researching is Kirby. My grandmother, born 1892 in Baltimore was Anna E Kirby. She was the daughter of James Knox Polk Kirby b 1844 and Anna Dashield b 1847. There were many children of James KP and Anna including Charles, Ida, John, Arthur, Jeanette, William, Thomas, and Leo. Arthur's middle name was Reed as Anna Dashield's mother was Nancy Reed. This family lived in South Baltimore. They were originally in East Baltimore, near the port. James was a ships carpenter as was his father, William Kirby b app 1820. He married Eliza/Elizabeth (last name currently unknown). She married Charles Hawthorn upon William's death. She was a midwife for many years. This Kirby family is of Scots-Irish descent. William was born in MD so the Irish immmigrant was probably among the many Scots-Irish who arrived in the 1700's. Is anyone else researching this line? I am looking for William's parents as well as the last name of Eliza/Elizabeth. Thank you very much.
