I did read and re-read the B&O history and short explanations but still could not figure out that entry "27 1/2 da". Does that mean he worked only 27 days out of each month? or out of that year? Ms. Kanely edited the already published lists from 1842 and 1852 but her notes regarding the entries are sparse. For instance what wage did my Rumney have between those given or did he raise from one to the other within those 27 days? Maybe in the long run this isn't very important but it would make a difference to my knowing his work history over a period of years. I'm sure my next stop is the B&O Museum. All puns intended.
