    3. Hi Listers I am researching Doyle relatives in Baltimore Maryland and am hoping that someone familiar with Baltimore Maryland and registrations etc might be able to help me out. I would like to find more information on Thomas K Doyle, Annie Doyle nee Madden and their daughters Sarah Ann Doyle and Mary Margaret Doyle and son John Doyle. Thomas K Doyle was born 1st december 1897 in Abbey Leix in Ireland .Thomas was a railway employee according to the SSDI. He died 1st August 1987 in Baltimore His wife Mary Ann Doyle (aka Annie) nee Madden was born 22nd July 1892 in Co Roscommon Ireland. Annie died 7th May 1987 in Baltimore Son John Doyle born February 1930 in Baltimore-------further information not available Daughters Sarah A Doyle born 7th June 1928 Baltimore died 24th July 1999 Mary Margaret Doyle born 7th December 1923 died 9th November 1998. I have found the family in the 1930 US census living at 429 Lafayette Ave Baltimore City .They owned their home.Thomas is listed as a Sealer on the Steam Railroad. Thomas and Mary Ann(Annie) married in 1919 but place of marriage is not known.Nor is their date of arrival in the US. I know daughter Sarah A Doyle was the last surviving member of the family so brother John must have died before 1999. Neither of the daughters married. I hope some lister who is familiar with Baltimore City will be able to give me some advice. Thanking you in Anticipation Marion PS Mary Ann Doyle ( Annie ) nee Madden was my great Aunt the children being my 1st Cousins once removed

    3. Hi, There are a couple of things you should do. I would check the Ellis Island web site for information on their passage to US. I would also check the 1900, 1910 and 1920 US Census. If you have the dates of death you can write to the Enoch Pratt library for a free death notice and obituary if any. This could also show the cemetery that they are buried and the church they were buried from. The church records could be a source for marriage, baptism and confirmation. As you have some dates of death go to the MD State Archives web page and search for their death certificate. Unfortunately, the archives no longer will send you a death certificate. You may pursue this through an independent person. There are some persons on the Internet who will do this for you. Death Certificates are very important to genealogy because of the information contained. In addition to this you could check the Baltimore City Directories for their names and where they lived. The directories are like phone books before there were phones. You should also check phone books. This should keep you busy for awhile. Genealogy is not as easy as you think and most of the work has to be done by you. The B&O RR also has a library where they have lots of records of RR employees. Most libraries have census records but it you can¹t find one that has them check with your local LDS center. Enoch Pratt may also check Directories for you if you are not able to go there.
