Hello List, My g-grandmother's funeral service was done by Rev. Dr. M. Bachman, according to her obituary. Does anyone on this list recognize this name? I'm hoping to find out what church she belonged too. Thanks, Karen ________________________________________________________________________ Check out the new AOL. Karen, I am pretty sure someone on the list has access to Edna Kanely's "Directory of Maryland Ministers and the Maryland Churches They Served 1634-1990." But they may be able to help you more if you provide a date. In some religions, pastors moved every 2 years. On my great, great grandfathers death certificate it says he was buried at Bachmans cemetery. I found out Bachman was the minister not the actual name of the cemetery. The cemetery is now known as Voshell Memorial Garden. Check with Bayview at 410-633-7042. Karen, Your Rev. Dr. M. Bachman probably had something to do with St. Pauls Fifth German Reformed Church. The is a Rev. M. Bachmann in their burial records. Karen, Confirming Lisa's info, the 1899 Baltimore City Directory listed the Fifth German Reformed Church, at Canton Ave & Broadway, with Rev. Marcus Bachman as the pastor. In a stroke of luck for you, the late Pauline Leitner and her husband Robert transcribed records from the church and they are now online at the Maryland Genealogical Society's web site. This is a great resource that deserves our support. You can access the records at: http://www.mdgensoc.org/database%20transcriptions/transcriptions.html It looks like Rev. Bachmann himself and many of his family were buried from there.
