Does anyone know where in Baltimore County John W. Garrett, president of the B & O RR, lived in 1880? He lived within two census pages of my gggrandfather who was running a boarding house. The census page says Supervisor District 1, Enumeration District 245 in the "country" of Baltimore County. Garrett is famous for the mansion Evergreen over by Johns Hopkins in the city, but that home was for his son. I e-mailed the B&O museum several months ago but have not heard from them.

    3. FYI -- The Baltimore County Public Library has a Legacy Web Site of old photos. Go to http://external.bcpl.lib.md.us/hcdo/lw_home.html and type in GARRETT. You will get 27 hits. Thomas Work Garrett, 1820-1884 (Photo 2246012). His estate "Montebello" was located entirely within Baltimore County at that time (Photo 2246010). You may also find some of the other hits to be of interest. Maybe this will be of some help in your research.
