John Colletta is fantastic - you can visit his website here: http://www.genealogyjohn.com/ (I am not associated with him in anyway.) HOW TO DISCOVER THE STORIES OF YOUR IMMIGRANT ANCESTORS Two Sessions $85 Wednesday, October 3 and 10 6:00 - 7:30 pm John Colletta For the millions of immigrants who came to America from the 17th through the 20th Centuries, the experience was life-changing for themselves and decisive for their descendants. But the experience was not the same for every one of them. Each immigrant's story is unique. Using two 19th Century (Germanic-French from Alsace-Lorraine, 1830, and Irish from County Kerry, 1893) and one 20th Century (Italian from Sicily, 1919) case studies, this program describes the original records and published sources available to discover the facts of your own ancestors' stories. We will discuss how to evaluate those facts and assemble them into a narrative that conveys both the drama and individuality of each ancestor's personal experience. John Colletta, PhD is one of America's most popular genealogical lecturers. Entertaining, knowledgeable and experienced, he taught workshops at the National Archives 21 years. Currently he lectures at the Smithsonian University. He is a faculty member of the Institute of Genealogy and Historical Research at Samford University in Alabama and the Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy, and he has appeared frequently on local and national radio and television, including the PBS series Ancestors.
