Anyway the city directories at Ancestry are searchable but I have an actual hard copy from 1929 that i looked at. Between Fayette and Monument Sts. there are 4 actual blocks and a 280 stall market. There are many "confectioners" that could be your "ice cream shop".Not sure about the church in the area but there are "Methodist Episcopal" churches listed. Do you have any additional information that might help pinpoint the location better, i.e. family name. Let me know and I'll look again.
