I have an ancestor who was listed as a "Foster Child" on the 1900 Census. There must have been some sort of paper work for this child, as MD has such an early history of keeping records. Question: Where might I look, or what agency to call, for information on Foster Children in the 1890's. Is there an "Orphans Court" in MD. as there is in PA.? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Sue
