On the Poppleton map of 1851, it was shown as bounded by Jefferson Street (N), Ann Street (E), Orleans Street (S) and west to Broadway." East Potter's Field - "The Lucas map of 1852 put and East Potter's Field on East Preston Street (N), Chesapeake Street (E), Chase Street (S), and Rose Street (once Mine Bank Lane) (W). This cemetery once adjoined St. Alphonsus III Roman Catholic Cemetery." Western Potter's Field - "was created in 1872 on the site of what is now Cherry Hill Junior High School." "The Lucas map of 1836 shows a potter's field on Sterrett Street (W), Cross Street (N), West Street (S) and Burgundy Street (E). This cemetery existed from at least 1822, but was gone by 1896." "In 1948, the city's last potter's field was established, but that name was discarded and the new name was Baltimore Public Cemetery. It is located on Quarantine Road on the farthest reach of Curtis Bay." Hope this helps! Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
