I found several obits - apparently Charles and Maggie had another child Lewis who died very young. Also I found Sarah Jane Beeler's obit, mother of the younger Charles - Charles' obit named her as "Jane" but her obit says Sarah Jane. Also found the elder Charles' obit. If you want all of this sent to you, message me your email via this post or via an email through ancestry.com. Seems that the elder Charles was originally from Alexandria, VA. Author: jsiemon Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.maryland.counties.baltimorecity/8272.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Records used most often by genealogists (marriage & death records, city directories, draft registrations, passenger lists, etc,) are all at the State Archives or other facilities. The City Archives has records related to the business history and government of the city. If your ancestor worked for the city, did business for the city or possibly had a law suit against the city, you might find something related to it. The problem is that most of it is not microfilmed or digitized and most is not indexed. They also have only a small staff to provide assistance, requiring an appointment to visit. Over the last 2 years or so, the State Archives is assisting the City Archives in organizing and making records more accessible. They now have a web site with a lot of information and great digitized maps and guides to what they have. Here is the web site:http://baltimorecityhistory.net/ Look for "Guide to the BCA for Genealogists," which includes a link to the "WPA Historical Records Survey Name Index," a great index that's about half completed online. And a link to Malissa Ruffner's blog post on how to use the WPA index. Make sure you check them out, because the WPA index appears to be the only clear index that is not anywhere else. You should also look at William LeFurgy's 1984, 113-page "Guide to the Baltimore City Archives." Although a little dated, it has a lot of detail on what is there. You can download it from the web site. John Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: jsiemon Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.maryland.counties.baltimorecity/8091.6.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I saw your post saying that it is "easy" to get a court order to release medical records of a deceased relative if you know where the records are. If you are successful at that, please let the rest of us know the process. Bayview was renamed Baltimore City Hospitals in 1925 and was owned by Baltimore City. It was poorly run and eventually Hopkins was helping to run it, eventually managing it and buying it in the 1980's. It is now part of the Johns Hopkins medical system. If your grandmother's medical records still exist from before 1952, I would check first with Hopkins. This web site has some hospital history http://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/dome/0404/centerpiece.cfm This web site has contact info for the Medical Archives of The Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions http://www.medicalarchives.jhmi.edu/contact.html They may not have patients records, but they may be able to tell you more. If they can't tell you, you might try contacting the Baltimore City Archives. Please let us know what you find out, because many have sought similar records from Bayview and elsewhere. 3. Hi Kathy, In 1900 Mary was listed as Mary E, Schultz, granddaughter, May 1890, 10, MD, Germany, MD She was in the home of John and Christina Reding. In 1910 she is listed as Mary F. Schultz, granddaughter, 18 single, MD Germany, MD, no occupation and still with John and Christina (ancestry index as Christian) I do not find her in 1920 so I would think she married after the 1910 census but before 1920. I am waiting to hear back from the courthouse/Register of Wills to see if they have a will on file for Christina Reding who died in 1926. I am hoping Mary is mentioned in it with her married name. Good to hear from you again, Lisa ----- Original Message -----   Lisa- Hi.  We have corresponded before but it's been a long time.
