    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: mandsdietz Surnames: Dietz, Deitz, Constance Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.maryland.counties.baltimorecity/8278/mb.ashx Message Board Post: In Baltimore city from abt 1853 until 1867/8 there was a single Joseph Dietz who was born in 1841 in Prussia. In 1860 and until 1864, Joseph was a plumber in the city. In 1865/6 the only Joseph Dietz was a cigar maker. After that there are 3 Joseph Dietz: a tailor at 213 Milikin/Mulikin, a laborer at 389? Aliceanna?, and a Dietz/Deitz working with Constance at 274 w. Pratt. Can anyone claim two of these and help me exclude them? "My" Joseph Dietz was living into the 1870's when he became a godparent for a nephew. Sure appreciate any leads on this!!!!!!!!!!!! Previously, I asked, whether you have access to papers from 1933 and 1941, without response. Do you have access to later newspapers? I seek obits for mother and daughter, Nancy Caroline Flannigain died 1941 in April and daughter, Christabel Lovejoy, died prior in 1933. Also, if you happen to follow this board you may have noticed that from time to time I seek info on my last male conundrum, Joseph Sebastian Dietz. Could you please notify me if anything ever comes up in your searches about a Joseph Dietz?????????? He was born January 14, 1841 to Johan Georg and Anna Maria Gilch Dietz, also known as John G. Dietz and Annie Mary, just Mary Dietz. A wedding notice would be wonderful but I have little hope left of finding him. Thanks again, tremendously, for what you do for genealogists!!!!!!!!! s Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. The 1920 census has him under Greczkowski. The 1930 census has him under Gracroski. I can not find him in the 1900 census. So far, I did find him in the 1898, 1899, 1907, 1909 and 1923 Baltimore directories. I could not find him in 1900, 1901 or 1902. I got the immigration and naturalization dates from the 1910-1930 census's. I am still working backwards through directories to find the earliest date I can. I do not have a copy of the death certificate as of yet. Thanks for your interest in helping me. Steph Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Since you have immigration and naturalization time periods, where did you get that information. Have you found him in the 1900 Census? If so, where and what spelling? When is the earliest you know him to be in Baltimore? (This is usually on his death certificate if you don't know.) I have not found him in the 1905 Baltimore City Directory under several variations. We may find a marriage record, but need more info that you probably have. His name could have been misspelled many ways.
