Elias was Joseph's younger brother, 10 years younger. When the company became Newman & Brother was the year Elias started helping Joseph make pianos. The two of them built the Hollins Market in Baltimore. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Union_Square,_Baltimore#Hollins_Market_2 They were there until around 1860 I believe, Baltimore was a Union town, and Joseph has Comfederate sympathies, I know this because he left with his family and came to live in Richland County SC, my friend who recently died had one of his pianos, it's a custom square that turns into a buffet table, made around 1848, so that's why I started researching the Newmans. My friend was 90 when he died and his grandparents had the piano custom made and sent from Baltimore. Joseph lived the rest of his life in SC as a farmer, but was buried in Baltimore. My email is debrahshaw@yahoo.com I have the email of his grandaughter somewhere I will try and find it for you. She knows more about Elias. There were many mentions of Rev. Charles Adey. I didn't see any pictures of him, but I saved the 2 attached notices for you. One on the wedding, which was at Sater's; and the other on his sermon after the Titanic sunk. That was part of a long article describing many ministers' responses to the disaster. Breaking the code of conduct for these boards. Please don't do business with them. Selling is not allowed. Imagine the how frustrating it would be if they got away with it and then more and more people would advertise through these boards. It would ruin a great resource and community. Charles and Mattie's marriage is not listed in the Baltimore City male marriage index list, so they may have been married in Baltimore County, maybe at Sater's. The Sater's Church was in the Towson/Lutherville area of Baltimore County, north of Baltimore City. You can see pictures of it at these sites: http://timonium.patch.com/articles/then-and-now-saters-baptist-church#photo-5999586 http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=cr&CRid=2305716 Charles Adey served at the following Baptist churches: Sater's: 1895-1901 Marion & Rehoboth Streets: 1902-1909 Immanuel, Milton Ave nr Lanvale St.: 1910-1918 This is from Edna Kaneley's "The Directory of Ministers and the MD Churches They Served, 1634-1990."
