    3. The Maryland State Archives has records from that time period. The website gives complete information including the fact that there may not be an index of that period but they do research for a fee. Also if you know the name of the church you may get more information from the church records as the state marriage records generally did not include the name of the couple's parents. I have listed the website address below. It gives a full explanation. http://www.mdarchives.state.md.us/msa/refserv/html/comarria.html#certs Jean Johnson On 26 Jul 2006 17:12:07 -0600, bobbi@epix.net <bobbi@epix.net> wrote: > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/AFB.2ACI/4707 > > Message Board Post: > > Am looking to get a copy of an original application for a marriage license from 1947. 1. obituaries from the Baltimore Sun: 19 July 1866

Bonnie Nicholson, William Baltimore Sun – 19 July 1866 On the 18th, instant, William, son of Henry and the late Mary Nicholson, aged (looks like ) 15 years and (looks like) 5 months. None knew him but to love him None named him but to praise Past his suffering, past his pain Cease to weep for tears are vain; Calm the tumult of your breast, For he who suffered is at rest. Our brother sleeps beneath the round Til the last trumpet sound. And burst the chains of sweet surprise And in his Saviour’s image rise. The relatives and friends are requested to attend his funeral this (Friday) afternoon, at four o’clock from 167 North Eden St. Pearce, Sarah Ann Baltimore Sun – 19 July 1866 On the morning of the 19th instant, Sarah Ann Pearce, aged 74 years and 9 months. His relatives and friends are requested to attend his funeral this (Friday) afternoon at half past five o’clock from his late residence, 180 North Calvert St. Brawner, Daniel W. Baltimore Sun – 19 July 1866 On Friday, 6th July, Daniel W. Brawner, in the 28th year of his age. “In the midst of life we are in death” The warning comes to us daily, repeated in the loss of the noble and the good, to give us both a warning and example of the tribute God exacts of humanity… Such an example is given in the decease of the dutiful son, affectionate brother and faithful friend, around whose grave has just been poured the sad tokens of our untimely loss and a loving family’s bitter bereavement. Generous, sincere and honorable in all the walks and associations of life, he had gathered around him a host of friends whose circle is saddened by his absence, who lament his premature departure, and who treasure in mournful memory his noble traits and worthy deeds. Green as the ivy that circles his silent resting place will remain the reminders of our lessing sorrow: but having found in his life an example, we must accept in his death the warning that life is but a span, and that to follow him in a better sphere we must tread the humble and Christian path he ! followe d while among us. Let us lay to our hearts the consoling assurance that he is not dead but sleepeth,” (sic) and strive by imitating his virtues, to deserve his reward. BY HIS COMPANIONS Fountain, Ella Baltimore Sun – 19 July 1866 On Saturday, 16th of July, in the city of Philadelphia, Ella Fountain, youngest child of Marcey (sic) and Annie E.
