And yes there is an upfront fee. So after you find out from them exactly what they can do for you, you'll then send the money via snail mail and wait for a response (I believe that part can take awhile). Phone #: 410-644-1900

    2. I understand what ou're saying, but I for one disagree with military medals of ay kind being sold this way. My husband spent 30 years in the Navy, and while he does not have a Purple Heart or Silver Star I would not want his medals and ribbons sold this way. I feel there should be some way of returning them to the government, and they should be disposed of honorably--such as when you have an American flag they has been damaged. Even if the government were to melt them down and reuse the metal, or send them to some sort of museum to put in their overstock or whatever. I feel it is dishonorable to any military person who has given up so much for his/her country to sell their medals and ribbons like this. No, the sky is not falling, but there should really be a better way to dispose of these things that selling them at auction or on e-Bay. -- Monica Mullikin Goose Creek, South Carolina -------------- Original message from Kathi Jones-Hudson <mdcemmy@yahoo.com>: -------------- > I will be the odd-person out on this one having read > the entire eBay listing -- > > #1- It was found/purchased from an estate, therefore > one can assume Pvt. 3. I will be the odd-person out on this one having read the entire eBay listing -- #1- It was found/purchased from an estate, therefore one can assume Pvt. Barnhill's parents are deceased and their possessions including the medals/certificates were not wanted by any other family members if any are even living -- so they were put up for auction. #2- The listing is respectful and states: Offered with Repect for Military collection/historical preservation. #3- Had the items not been sold at auction and made their way to eBay then they probably would have ended up in a second hand shop or even thrown out by auction personnel. Better a military collector own them. I don't think the sky is falling and no one should really be quite so upset by this. Clearly if any family members wanted the items or were still alive they would be the ones who had possession of them ... doesn't seem to be the case. Today's map shows the street on the east side of the park to be S. Ellwood; however, it looks like the park is larger today on the east side.
