Did they live in Baltimore? Do you know any of their birth places? Did James have brothers and sisters? Since he is 67 now, I guess we can assume his mom would have been born about 1920 or so.. I don't see an Irene Guilfoy in 1920 or 1930 anywhere. Any additional info will help the search. Would like to exchange information with anyone interested any of the following families that lived in Baltimore during the mid and/or late 1800s or the 1900s: Graham Brady Corrigan
Although the 1860 census of Fred. and Amelia in OH, says the children ages 21-11 were born in MD, I can't find Fred. there in 1840. Since 1840 does not show any details of the household, it makes it very hard to search for families whose names were spelled wrong. I tried searching for Elizabeth in 1850 assuming Adam may have died, but couldn't find her. I do see John Eisele. age 60, and wife "Dora" in West Moreland PA in 1870 as Fred was in 1850, so I'd bet the rest of the family is/was there too. They are not easy to find in toher years..... Joan, Centre Street is about 5 blocks North of Mulberry Street. they both run East/West. There is a map of 1890 Baltimore on www.davidrumsey.com that shows the election districts. I believe Centre Street is in ED 11. That said it is possible the districts were changed prior to the1910 census. If your people came in 1902 - 1904 I would check out the 1910 census to see if they are there plus the 1900 census for the cousin. As a first step, you should probably try to get obituaries for some of these individuals. If they died in Baltimore, they should be listed on the Death Certificate registry on the State Archives website. See http://mdvitalrec.net/cfm/index.cfm Another option would be to check the Social Security Death Index on the LDS website: its records begin during the 1960s I believe. See http://www.familysearch.org/ Once you have the death dates, you can request obituaries from the Pratt Library, and they may provide more family information. See email: per@mail.pratt.lib.md.us Good luck in your search, Isabelle On Jan 19, 2007, at 1:00 AM, md-baltimorecity-request@rootsweb.com wrote: Date: Thu, 18 Jan 2007 18:39:27 -0000 From: "gc-gateway@rootsweb.com" <gc-gateway@rootsweb.com> Subject: [MD-BALTIMORECITY] Tyszkiewicz-Zuromski-Rebstock-Budde To: <MD-BaltimoreCity-L@rootsweb.com> Message-ID: <1169145568.4130@rootsweb.com> Content-Type: text/plain; This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Peter P Zuromski (my grandfather) and Albert Leonard Zuromski (my uncle). Peter A Zuromski died in 1934 in North Carolina. She married a Walter Rebstock. Though all I know is that he was in World War I. I do not have marriage date for him or a birth date. Don't know if they had any children either. He died and then she married Herman A.F. Budde. He passed away in 1980. I vaguely remember him. She passed away in 1982. Any information that can be found on my great grandmother would be great. I do know her parents names: Adam Tyszkiewicz and Victoria Orlowska. I know this because during the time my grandmother was living in Baltimore with them, her aunt Rose came to live with them. Rose Orlowska. Laura was born in Poland. Again, I don't know the town.
My great aunt, whose family lived in Nashville, TN, attended a "young ladies' finishing school" in Baltimore. She was born in 1862, so I imagine she attended about 1880 or thereabouts. Can you suggest any way to find any information about "Southern Home School" ?

Thank you. 3012 Glendale Avenue was the house I went to visit in my childhood. Granpa Budde didn't come over until the 1940s. This helps me a great deal. I found out this weekend from my grandmother that Joseph L Tyszkiewicz changed his name to Joseph L Adams because he didn't like the last name he had. G grandma Zuromski lived at 735 Luzerne Avenue. Had a bit of a quandry. My great grandmother's maiden name is Tyszkiewicz. She married my great grandfather Peter A Zuromski around 1919-1920. They had two sons. ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to MD-BALTIMORECITY-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to MD-BALTIMORECITY-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
I checked my 1936 Baltimore City directory and found some information related to your family. Other tidbits may or may not be. ZUROMSKI, Laura A. (widow of Peter A.) was a machine operator living at 733 or 735 S. Luzerne Ave. [The listing under her name says 735. The listing in the criss cross by street says 733.] TYSZKIEWICZ, Adam (Victoria) was a stevedore living at 733 S. Luzerne Ave. Also living in the house were Joseph L. TYSZKIEWICZ, packer and wife Elinor H., employee at C&P Telephone, plus Veronica D. TYSZKIEWICZ, packer. TYSZKIEWICZ, Andrew J. (Marie T.), machine operator, living at 808 S. Luzerne Ave. TYSZKIEWICZ, Hedwig (widow of Philip), living at 720 S. Lakewood Ave. REBSTOCK, Walter (Lillian), clerk, living at 3012 Glendale Ave. No Herman A. F. ETTA- Please email me and let me know you got the message I posted here yesterday. (I can't reply directly yet, as BCPL is still having problems with WEBTV.) Kathy
I checked mdvitalrec.net and found that this James Braid died on December 13, 1916. His Baltimore City death certificate number is D-0399. In a message dated 1/18/2007 11:54:49 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, flower.freak@verizon.net writes: Ancestry.com has an 1890 Baltimore City directory online. There is a James Braid, carpenter, living at 701 N Chester. Also at that address is Elizabeth L. Braid, grocer. -----Original Message----- From: md-baltimorecity-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:md-baltimorecity-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of gc-gateway@rootsweb.com Sent: Thursday, January 18, 2007 2:35 PM To: MD-BaltimoreCity-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [MD-BALTIMORECITY] James Braid died Baltimore 1916 This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list.
