Author: robinkaspar Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.maryland.counties.baltimorecity/4787.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Lovely Lane Museum does exist and the staff are very helpful. I found the "original" marriage record of our Brashears ancestors there last fall, the only place the record exists. I use the quotes however, because although the record is very old, it is a handwritten transcription of the original, not the original original. I don't know when the transcription was done but apparently someone was smart enough to realize that the original originals were deteriorating and acted to save them before they were lost to time. Good luck. Robin Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. My great-great grandfather was Frederick William Lins and he died in Baltimore City on October 14, 1918. His son Harry Lins and possibly his other son William Lins went to retreive the body and got into a fight with the doctor. I am very eager to see if there is any information about this anywhere. 1. [MD-BALTIMORECITY] Divorce Records
    2. Bill Love
    3. I am trying to locate records of two divorces that would have occurred in Baltimore City. The first would have been between William Love and Sarena Love (nee Smallwood) somewhere around 1849 and 1850. The second was between William L. Love and Mary Agnes Love (nee McKee) around 1907. Any help finding these records would really be appreciated. Thanks Bill Love (welove@tampabay.rr.com) -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition. I was searching the name BATZER and got over 500 hits nationally, and over 50 hits from The Sun. Of those, I would say 15 were useful. I feel the price of subscription was worth it since I also found out why by ggggrandfather was known as "City Hall" Batzer. He was appointed day watchman of City Hall in the 1880's. This was probably due to the fact he controlled a part of his Ward politically and brought in votes for the winning candidate. I plan to keep my subscription for at least 2 months for research, etc. If you need a lookup, let me know and I will try. You can save the articles as pdf's. There are a bunch of George SCOTTs but I figured that if a George W. was living next door to his daughter that it was good bet that he was the right George. Family rumor has it that his sons went to retrieve the body from the hospital (they weren't releasing the bodies due to the flu epidemic) they searched through bodies until they found their father. When they found him they discovered that the doctor had performed an autopsy without their consent. They found and beat up the doctor and subsequently went to jail. I wanted to verify this rumor - does anyone know where I might look to substantiate this claim? Are there any existing court or criminal records from Baltimore City in 1918? 3. If you have access to a law library, the case should be written up in a Maryland volume. The books are published by the year.
