Author: jsiemon Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.maryland.counties.baltimorecity/8032.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I can't help you with the time the cemetery opens, but I did some other research that may give you some leads. First of all, the Great Baltimore Fire of 1904 did not reach the Courthouse, and I don't believe any Baltimore vital records were destroyed in the fire. My Grandparents were born in the city in the 1890s and their birth certificates are on microfilm at the State Archives. If your Grandmother's birth certificate is not there, it is for another reason. I have a number of false family legends in my family, so keep an open mind to what you've heard. Have you found your Henry Brock/Broch in the 1900, 1910 and 1920 Census? I have found one that I believe is him, living in the city in 1900 with wife Anna and one son. Widowed and living in Canton (Baltimore County) in 1910, with 4 children, including 10-yr-old Annie. Annie has 2 younger siblings, so I don't believe her mother died 3 days after she was born in 1900. The youngest child was 6 in 1910. I found a death certificate in the Baltimore County index for Annie Broch, age 35, who died April 23, 190?(can't read the last digit), in Baltimore County. Her age fits the one in the Census in 1900. http://www.mdvitalrec.net/cfm/dsp_jump.cfm?CurrentPage=758 If you think this is your grandmother's family, let me know and I'll try to send you more offline. I have learned that one of my sisters had a twin who was ill, bedridden at home where she died when she was about 7 yrs old. I only know that she died August 10, 1960 and that she was originally buried over my mother's grandfather in a Baltimore cemetery (Mt. Carmel or St. Paul's??) but was later relocated somewhere in a seperate plot due to construction of I-95 through Maryland. Her name was Bonnie Lou Strejcek.
