Birth records started in Baltimore City in 1875 and the rest of the state about 1898, also there are delayed birth records for this time period if the person applied for Social Security they would need a copy of their birth certificate.     3. I need help deciphering the Baltimore passenger list of Chaya Sarah Weinzimmer, and finding out who the uncle was she was going to meet in Baltimore and what happened to her. Her name was indexed as Sure Weinrimmer at Ancestry. She was, I think it says, a 28 year old Hebrew widow born in Kolny (Russia then, Poland now, actually Kolno), departing Hamburg on 16 May 1914 on the SS Barcelona, arriving in Baltimore on June 3, 1914 and going to meet an uncle whose name I cannot make out, at what looks like 413 Jay Street, Baltimore. I am new to research in Baltimore, so I have no idea how to try to find any remarriage or death that is not in the ssdi. Any help deciphering her uncle's name from the list and finding him and/or her in census records or city directories would also be appreciated. Thanks!

Harry George owned the Skinner shipbuilding and dry docks. I do not live in baltimore. where could I find birth cert. Historykpress.com looks like a valuable site, full of relatively inexpensive easily accessible compiled information for my areas of interest. I haven't found exactly what you have (CD and book) but there are a number of items to look through. I'm not sure of the Baltumore Geneological Society you are referring to - I only see a site by that name for Baltimore County. I'll start there. I again thank you for your help and information. Dallas (Page 524) It listed 5 other Cohees at 4 different addresses. The 1910 Census lists: Robert M. Cohee (in Ancestry's Index, spelled Cohea) Boarder at 256 S. Dallas, black male, age 35, widower, a stevedore; he and both parents all born in MD. Curiously, the columns that list the number of children and living children (normally listed only for mothers) has 2 and 2, which may mean he had two living children.
