There are 2 Taeuber families that were in Baltlimore in the last century. My great great grandmother was Barbara Anna Weber Tauber. I found George CULLIDON & family in the 1800 census in Baltimore City - don't know street address ? >From the directories I have found the following entries: 1800 soap & candle manufacturer, 1802 soap boiler, 1803 soap boiler & candle manufacturer, Conowago Street, Baltimore Town, Maryland 1807-08 grocery & liquor store, 27 Market Space, Baltimore town 1810 liquor store, 27 Market Space, East Side, Baltimore town, Maryland 1812 groceries & liquor store, 17 Harrison Street, Baltimore Town, Maryland 1814 grocer, 17 Harrison Street, Baltimore town, Maryland I am aware that directories are not all that reliable but this does seem that the CULLIDON family was here for at least some of this time. 3. I do want to say that a lot of the death certificates that you get from the Archives have the parents along with the mothers maiden. The cause of death and where they were buried. Now since his date of death was 1884 they may not be that complete. For thirty years our first research had my great grandmother with the surname of Garrett. And he willed his research to another person - who is a four way cousin connection. Well by ordering one of my great uncles death certificates I found her name was really Turner. After all those years. Then the present researcher search the records in Virginia and "behold" found the birth listing of several of the children. Confirming the name Turner was indeed our great grandmother's maiden name. I know how important it is to get that "one" clue. Our original ancestor in the US was an orphan. He was given the name Sealock. And even a DNA test has not helped us locate that one person who could give us a clue to our original surname. And our researcher has traveled to England, Scotland and France and no luck. So keep looking

Author: BarrySiegle15 Surnames: Soboda Swoboda Svoboda Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.maryland.counties.baltimorecity/8075/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am searching for my maternal grandmother's brother, Frank A. Soboda (also used Swoboda)who was last seen alive on 25 April 1942 when he registered for the military draft, even at age 53. His birth date is listed as August 11, 1888. According to that document (filled out in Baltimore), his last known address was 858 West Fayette Street in Baltimore City. Can someone check the Baltimore City Directories for me to see if he lived at that address after that date and when he may have stopped living there. This could be a crucial lead! There is a possibility that he could have died also in Baltimore City. As he disappeared off the face of this earth I guess I cannot be too sure whatever happened to him. Ideas would be apprciated in the search. His mother's name was Clara Swoboda and she lived at 1500 S. Hanover Street at on 25 April 1942. Please advise at [email protected] Thanks so much for any assistance in locating whatever happened to him!!!
