's John Downing, wife Mary and family were to be found in sw Virginia on Reed Creek by 1749. Then by 1754 they were located in the County of Bedford and Parish of Russell where he died in 1777, possibly after being shot by Tories. Anyone have a John the right age etc. in VA, PA or MD who could be this John!! The known children were William, John, Andrew, James, Ezekiel, Martha, Margaret McFarland, and Mary Yoakum. Any assistance with primary or secondary documentation of this line greatly appreciated. Always happy to swap files. Walt
