He was struck by Car 730 of the United Railways and Electric Co. York road line on the corner of Lombard and Light Sts. He never regained consciousness. He was about 35 years old and lived at 1404 S. Charles St. Baltimore SAUNDERS, James S., 219 East Preston St., Baltimore, died suddenly on March 7 while working at the Detrik and Harvey machine shops. Mr. Saunders was born and spent all his life in Baltimore. He was 72 years old. He was a member of St Ignatius Church since it was built about 47 years ago. He is survived by his widow and one son, Mr. James B. Saunders, and one sister, Miss Mary E. Saunders, principal of No. 20 Male Primary School. SHANNAHAN, Jesse E. Died Feb. 28 at his home 1328 N. Mount St. Baltimore. from pneumonia. Patrolman Shannahan was one of the largest men in the northwestern district, standing 6 feet 3 inches, and weighing almost 300 pounds. His was appointed patrolman May 1, 1883, coming from Talbot County.
