Surnames: Michael, Thankbonden, Bonham Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/SFB.2ACI/4170 Message Board Post: Hi, I am hoping to find descendants of John Michael (1765-1855) of Allegany County, Maryland, the son of Philip & Mary Michael, who have in their possession old family bibles/records. John Michael married a Catherine, whose surname was either Thankbonden or Bonham. It is Thankbonden according to a 1937 article, but the DAR has Bonham, from which Thankbonden could be corrupted from (she maybe having a middle name such as Thank, Thankful). The Michael family had originally lived in Loudoun County, Virginia, & there was a Bonham family near them when they were living there.
