I am in desperate need to find a particular person in Maryland to connect my family tree for verification. I have a Rev. Edward Topp arriving at Baltimore?? in about 1696 coming from England on the King's bounty to preach and to teach. He was rector at, at least three parishes that I am aware of. St. Paul's in Baltimore from about 1696 to about 1702, St. Mary's from about 1702 - 1704 and finally St. Anne's in Annapolis from about 1703/4 to 1706, the year he died. I have found several references to him in the Maryland Archives as being the Minister to the Lower House of Govt. in the early 1700's and he was also supposedly tutor to the Royal Governor children, Governor Nicholson. I am trying to pinpoint his death in 1706 and place of burial, probably Annapolis, but not sure, his wife's name, he may have been married when he arrived from England or married in Maryland and the date of the birth of at least one son Roger, possibly other children before his death in 1706 at the age of 29, cause of death unknown. I can trace from his son Roger to present day without any breaks, but want more information on Edward. He was born in 1677 in Sussex, England. Can anyone out there be of assistance?
