I am searching for my McCarty ancestors who came from Maryland. I believe I have found 3 brothers: Thomas McCarty, born 1788 in Maryland, lived and owned land in Jasper and Richland Counties, Illinois, died 19 Feb 1860 in Shelby County, Illinois James McCarty, born 1789 in Maryland or Delaware, lived in Daviess County, Indiana John McCarty, born 1792 in Maryland, lived and owned land in Jasper and Richland Counties, Illinois I believe it was from the Eastern shore because the 1850 US census states that James was born in Delaware.
