As to the Shelton connection. I'm not aware of any Shelton connection in 1839 when Hudson Lowe was security on the Shelton bond. (I've asked this question myself.) We do know that the Hudson Lowe house is located across the road from the ridge where the Shelton cemetery is located and where his son, George W. Lowe, and daughter Margaret (Lowe) Beam are buried. Hudson's son, Thomas R. Lowe, married Nancy Ann Shelton in 1846. Parental consent was given by Alexander and Sophia Shelton. In 1883 he married (2nd) Henrietta (last name not known to me), the widow of William Shelton. Hudson Lowe's youngest son, John Hudson Lowe, married in 1859 Mary Jane Shelton.
