I am looking for my husbands family and have hit a major road block. Hopefully someone out there can help me. The surname is currently spelled SHUMAC, but may have been changed along the line so any thing close would be acceptable at this point (Shumack, Schumac, Schumack, Shuemack etc). Hubby's line is as follows, Eric John(hubby), Timothy Charles, Quintin Frederick, Joseph Elmer, and Thomas. I am stuck at Thomas. Thomas is listed as being born about 1846 in Maryland, but I cannot find anything in my searching and I will probably not be able to make a trip that way any time soon. All the others were born in PA. Joseph Elmer went by Elmer and Thomas we believe has the middle name of Henry and may have gone by Henry at some point, but not sure. There is a possibility Thomas was married before he moved to PA and married Sarah. Thomas married Sarah Ellen Sharp (went by Ellen) in PA and they had their children there. She was born in PA and I have info on her. Joseph married Eleanora Markert (Ella) in 1918. Quintin married Bernadette Steger in 1946. Timothy married Barbara Titus about 1970. The family lore says that the Shumac's came from Ireland, but no one has any idea where exactly or when. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all in advance. Courtney Shumac (Thayer)
