I am researching Dill ancestors in Maryland in the 1600s. I have found information about John Dill coming to Maryland in 1659. I have also found a Thomas Dill land record dated March 10 1731. Is Thomas Dill the son of John Dill. Does anyone have more information about these and other Dills in Maryland in this time frame? Thanks for your help. With love in Christ, George
Hi -- I'm looking for information on Goldsbury / Goldsberry / Gouldsbury. My brick wall is my John Goldsbury (aka Gouldsborough) who was born in 1700 and supposedly came to the U.S. alone when he was 10-15 years old. The first record I have of him is in 1727 when he married in Wrentham, MA. So there's this gap of years between perhaps 1710 and 1727. There are no other Goldsburys in Suffolk County, MA. I'm trying to find out if there were other Goldsburys elsewhere where John might have initially gone. I've been at this for over 30 years, been into records in Boston, as well as Nova Scotia where his son, Samuel (my 5gg father) went after the Revolutionary War. It's been a fascinating road -- but at the same time very frustrating. If anyone can shed any light on any Goldsburys / Goldsberrys, I'd really appreciate hearing from you. Judy Bingham Fullerton, CA
Hello Listers, I know this is not a lot of information however this is all I have. I am looking for information on a Betty Todd which is her maiden name. Betty was born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada about 1920. She was the daughter of the deceased Joseph George Todd & Annie Augusta Todd from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. She met Bill her husband at a Top Man's Club in Buffalo, New York and eventually married him in Baltimore Maryland. He was from the Baltimore, Maryland area I believe. I am guessing she married Bill around 1950-1955. She died around 1955-1960 with a brain tumor. Does the Baltimore Library have an index of marriages? I know that Buffalo, New York public Library has a list of marriages that are indexed until 1960 which gives you what the maiden name and surname of spouses they have married. I hope somebody can help me out here. At this point I am at a road block. Any information you have would be greatly appreciated. Warmest regards, Kevin Culp
Hi! My 5xgreat-grandparents were Achsah Plummer & George Hinkle. I descend through their daughter Elizabeth Hinkle & her husband William Drake,Sr. I further descend through their son William Drake,Jr. & his wife Mary ? through their son Thomas Drake born 1810 MD. & his wife Hannah Browning. The last couple married 25 Jan. 1837 in Harrison Co.,OH. They had 10 children. Does anyone know what Mary's maiden name was & where William Drake,Jr. & Mary got married? Was it MD. or PA.? They moved from Bedford Co.,PA. to Harrison Co.,OH. by 1819. Thanks! Pam Drake in IN. padrake@sbcglobal.net
William Grimes and his wife Joyce arrived in the Provence of Maryland in 1663, listed as for "service". In 1667 they were listed as "transported" for the credit of Edward Dorsey. William witnessed the will of John Sison 1663 in Anne Arundel County. June the following year two properties on the south side of the Severn River were surveyed for William; "Bruton-Grimes" of fifty acres jointly with John Bruton and "Grimeston" of 100 acres in his name. Eight years later in 1672 two more parcels of land were patented to William. The first of these was "Grimes Addition" and the second was "Friends Choice" patented jointly with Nicholas Shephard. William and Joyce were the parents of three sons; William born 1664, John born 1666 and James born 1668. William's will is dated March 25, 1676. His widow Joyce marries their friend Nicholas Shephard. Any assistance with primary or secondary documentation of this line and it's extension to Joyce's surname and/or William's parents greatly appreciated. Always happy to swap files. Walt

I have recently found a marriage announcement in the Baltimore Sun for Nov. 12, 1849 in which it is stated that Jose De J. XIQUES and Susannah Grace LEWIS were married by "Mr. Hickey"--no other information is given. I know that this is a question, perhaps too far out on the limb, but would anyone perhaps know if this meant that Mr. Hickey was a justice of the peace since no church was mentioned? Also would anyone have this Susannah Grace LEWIS in their information? It is stated that she was from England, and he is from Cuba. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Suzanne hsweise@comcast.net

Here is a little Lowe info I came across from a transcription of a Waller family bible: Waller, Jonathan born March 28, 1783, wife: Wilson, Rachel Father - Waller, Jonathan Mother - Lowe, Phillis These people were located in the eastern shore area around the Delaware and Maryland line. Sorry, but that is all I know about her. Many of the Waller's were tied in via marriage to my Ellis family in the same area. Do you have any more information than what you've posted here? Also, can you please cite a source for the child Warran Lowe who you've listed as son of Barton and Susanna Lowe? I've seen that before but no one seems to know where it originated. Thanks! As for the Eleanor Lowe who was residing in Clermont Co., OH in the 1860 census, I THINK she was the wife of Samuel B. Lowe, but again cannot prove it. I THINK Samuel Barton Lowe was the son of Barton and Susanna Lowe. He married Eleanor Sollars/Sellers and I THINK they are the parents of my Alexander B. Lowe b.1813OH. I'm definitely not sure of any of this and am hoping you have more information. Thanks so much for any help you can provide. The counties of Talbot, Caroline, and Queen Anne adjoin. The 1790 Census of Maryland had heads of households: In Caroline Co., CAMPER, James, Quinten, & Wm. In Queen Anne Co., John, Solomon, & Wm. In Talbot Co., Charles, Thomas, & two Williams. In Talbot Co., MD, 1840 & 1850, there was a Joseph CAMPER, b. 1776. There was a Martin, b. 1839, in Talbot Co., and a Martin, b. 1849 in Caroline County. In 1880, Martin D. CAMPER, aged 39, schooner captain, was with brother Wm., 71. [They were the only ones with the CAMPER name in the household. The age difference certainly indicates half-brothers. The D. might have been an error for the middle initial O. Do you know what O. stood for?] In 1880, Monument, Huntington, IN, Wm. D. HARRELL, 25, IN IN OH; wf. Jessie A., 23, IN MD _; ch. b. IN: Homer A., 1; & Adda B., 3 mos. In 1880, Dora, Wabash, IN, Joseph CAMPER, 63, carpenter, MD MD MD; had wf. Sarah J., 49, NC NC NC; & dau. Florence E., 11, IN.
