    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/SFB.2ACI/4252.1 Message Board Post: There is a great deal of information available about the GREENFIELD family of Charles, Calvert, St. Mary's, Pr. Geo., & Baltimore Cos., MD. However, I couldn't find the name Samuel in the early records. Both TRUMAN & GREENFIELD families came from Gedling, Nottinghamshire. MD Deponents: Thomas GREENFIELD of Pr. Geo. Co. was 64 in 1715. Col. Thos. Truman GREENFIELD was in Charles Co., 47 in 1729, and in Pr. Geo. Co. in 1731, aged 49. The age of Thomas, 64 in 1715, agrees with one b. Gedling.

    3. Social Security was started in 1937. To apply for SS, you almost had to give your life history. The application had to include both your parents names, ages and places of Birth. If you had a parent or grandparent who applied for SS. Ask for a "copy" of their "Application". It is basic information but it will get you started in the right direction. My Grandfather, on my mother's side was a Smith. He marreid a nice Lady name Campaigne. one was English, one was French , Yet, they both came from Ireland havring lived there several generatons due to religious persecution in Europe. 1. trip to Baltimore
    2. Christine Schott
    3. I will be in Baltimore next week for some visiting with family (which includes some steamed crabs - hooray!) and some genealogical research. I will definitely be spending some time in Annapolis at the MD state archives and I will also spend some time at the main branch of the Pratt library in downtown Baltimore. I am willing to do lookups/copies, but only if you have the specific info for the lookup. For example, if you want a death cert copy from the archives, I will need to know the cert number. If you need an obit from the Sun at Pratt, I will need to know the death date. I am mostly concentrating on my own research, so I'm not planning to spend lots of time doing research for others, just willing to quickly find the microfilm and make the copy for you (saves you $11 over ordering from the Archives - I will ask to be reimbursed the 50¢ copy fee and the 37¢ postage to mail it to you). I may go to the MD Historical Society, the Balt County Gen Society, the Balt County Historical Society, or others, but I'm not sure yet. Feel free to send requests for these, but be aware that I may not go there. Also, I will be visiting Baltimore Cemetery, Loudon Park Cemetery, and Holy Redeemer Cemetery and am willing to take photos of headstones if you know the section and lot number (so I can find it quickly). Again, I can't spend tons of time doing research, just find the lot and snap the photos. Please email me directly with any requests. Christine

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/SFB.2ACI/4250 Message Board Post: Hello, I was wondering if maybe someone could help me. I came across a partial newspaper article talking about my grandparents marrying. I'd like to find a copy of this article. The article states: 45 LICENSES TO WED ISSUED DURING APRIL: New York Man, 37, Marries Pasadena Girl, 15, With Consent of Parents". The article would have been in the paper some time around April 1934 or 1935. Can anyone direct me in the right direction? What paper might have been around then? I'm in WI so researching it directly is difficult. I did look at the Library Web site, it said they only had articles from 1990 up?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just enter the city and state, then put "newspaper" in the box for the kind of business. Sometimes you have to zoom in or out on MapQuest maps, but you can usually find the county, too.
