Usually, you need to find at least a middle initial from another source, though, before you can assume that. It's also possible that John & Rachel divorced before that, and Malinda was another person. You posted quite a bit of the information from your ggrandfather John HIGLE's death certificate, but you didn't say when and where he was born and when he died. How old were Rachel & George CAMPBELL in 1880? Does that census agree that she was born in Ohio? You said Rachel was with John HIGLE and his family in 1900. What did that census say about them? The more details you post, the more likely that somebody can help you.

I have very little to go on and I have been at a dead end on my gg grandfather for 2 years. The info that I have came from my g grandfathers death cert. His name was John Higle, son of John Higle and Rachel Lowe. He died in Mason Co Ky. His death record says that his father was born in Maryland and his mother in Ohio. The 1880 Mason Co Ky census shows my g grandfather living with his mother Rachel Campbell and step father George Campbell. So, therefore I have to assume that the John Higle, 60 years old, living with the Low family of Bentonville, Adams Co., OH is my gg grandfather. I know of no siblings for my gg grandfather or g grandfather. The 1900 Mason Co Ky census shows Rachel Campbell living with her son John Higle and his family. Mr. Campbell must have died. Then in the 1910 Mason Co Ky census Rachel is not there. So she must have died sometime between 1900 and 1910. I have not as yet found a death record for my gg grandma Rachel or gg grandpa John. I contacted the National Cemetery Assoc. in Dayton regarding the John Heigle who died 19 Nov 1886 and they sent me a copy of what papers was in his file. There was nothing there to connect him to the John Higle that lived in Adams Co with the Low Family. I also tried searching a John Higle married to a Malinda Lowe that was listed in the Adams Co census for 1870. Can Malinda and Rachel be the same person? God only knows. Looks like I am batting zero. Do you have any suggestions?

Hi,. I am seeking help in trying to locate information on John E. Mcpherson, not sure of the dates on him, but my cousin was able to find a bit of information on an old phone book for that county for around the late 1800's....We do know that he was a brakeman for the WWRR...the railroad....and that he was killed in a train accident around or before 1890....we also know that on his son's, Walter Keller death certificate he lists the name of Edward for his father...so it is possible his name was John Edward. Appreciate any help in trying to break this brickwall that we have been trying to break for 3 years or more.....thank you.... Stephanie Grohol
