My husband and I live in Libertyville, Il. I find it interesting that you should be looking for family members with surnames of both Thickpenny and Dowden as Gladys's last name was Dowden. Parents names were John L. Dowden (born in England) and Johanna (Elfering) Dowden (born in Libertyville, IL). Would be interested in the Dowden/Thickpenny connection that you are searching.

Does anyone know anything about the Mormon church at the corner of Seminary Ave and Dulaney Valley Road in the Towson area? Is there a Family History Center there? When I look at the Family Search site online, it only lists the FHC on Stemmers Run Road near Essex for the Baltimore area, but my grandmother swears she once went to the church on Dulaney Valley Road and used a Family History Center there. Second question - can anyone give me an idea of what films are held by either of these two FHC's (if the one on Dulaney Valley actually exists...)? I know I can get any of the films held by the FHL in Utah sent to any local FHC, but I'm looking for the least expensive route, so if I know which films the local Baltimore FHC already holds, I can start with those. I'm sure they have MD census reels, which are the one thing I really don't need - I can use Heritage Quest online from home. I'm particularly interested in knowing if they have the reels of church records from any of the Lutheran churches in Baltimore. Thanks Christine

I have an ancestor - Jonathan Glossup - who signed indentures papers in London in 1724 to serve "in Maryland (his Majesties Plantations In America)...." Can anyone tell me where these lands would have been in 1724? He was indentured to John Dykes, "Victular." Perhaps someone knows where John Dykes held land in Maryland in the early 1700s? Thanks in advance for any help. Shannon Abbott

Check the MD Vital records on line at the following Maryland Archives website. _http://mdvitalrec.net/cfm/index.cfm_ (http://mdvitalrec.net/cfm/index.cfm) I clicked search, scrolled down to Baltimore City Death Index, and clicked on the MSA CE 42, HEALTH DEPARTMENT, BUREAU OF VITAL STATISTICS (Death Record, Index) 1875-1972 MSA CE 42-190 scrolled down to the last entry on the next page L000-Z652, and manually searched each screen, as they are not in alphabetical order, on page 30, found the following Soundex, Surname, First Name, Race and Sex, Date of Death, Age, and Registered Number M266, McCreary, Lucille, 4 (this must be a code for the race and sexbut I didn't see any explanation), 9/31/71, 8832. If you go to this page, you can also order a copy of the death certificate itself (since this is only an index). As you'll notice there are also indexes for other years I did a quick check of the 1934 and 1935 for Nathaniel, and couldn't find him. I noticed you said he died in fairfax, Baltimore, Maryland. Could it be possible that he died in Fairfax, Virginia, rather than Baltmore? Just a thought Hope the information on Lucille helps.
