I have been looking for my uncle since 1973 and found this date & name on a web site from Richmond, Wayne Co, Indiana. I would like a copy of this obit. to see if this could be him. He was raised in Laurel Co, Ky and his brother & sister are both passed away now. He left here along time ago and went to Indiana so this could be him. Thanks so much.
I'm not singling Scott out (thanks for being helpful, Scott!), but a reminder to everybody -- if you are replying to a Message Board post that has been gatewayed to the list, either 1) Click the Link and reply on the board, or 2) reply to the poster, and CC the list. #1 is preferred -- I can't tell if #2 is done, because CCs are stripped from list posts. If you reply only on the list, chances are the original poster will never see your reply. Hi Buntybeedle: Yes and No to your email. My James McQueen b. 1848 Mochrum married Ellen in 1870 Liverpool. He may have been related to James McQueen of Mochrum who married Margaret McCubbin but I dont know the connection. Yes Owen McQueen father of my James McQueen did have a daughter Elizabeth McQueen who moved to London, a dressmaker, spinster, probably died there. I found her in London in 1881 British census. Does that answer your question. Do you have more information for me about James that married McCubbin. Perhaps he was a brother or cousin of Owen, could you give me more information about him? Owen was born either in Ireland probably NI as Owen is a Southern Tyrone name. Hi Henry, I may have already replied to you, not sure. But my McQueen line probably originated in Scotland, went to Ireland and I found my gggrandfather Owen McQueen living in Mochrum in 1837 married to Margaret Copeland. The names were misspelled in the OPR to Quinn and Cobley but later in 1841 Mochrum census named Queen and 1851 census McQueen, Owen married to Margaret Copeland with children baptised in Church of Scotland in Mochrum (5) Some of the family moved to Liverpool my line James married there Liverpool 1870 m. Ellen with 3 sons Thos.Owen, Albert, and Frederick W. I am related directly to Thos Owen by my father John McQueen. I don't know where Albert and Frederick went and their families, would like to check out in Liverpool and London where I found Elizabeth, U, worked as a dressmaker. That is the only one from my line in 1881 British census. Sorry if I am repeating myself. I think some must be in London or Liverpool still or some may have emigrated. Let me know if you know any of these names. I would need a time frame. But probably not much. My are the Ohio McQueen's that came in from the WV panhandle - Washington Co. PA area. Joshua was connected to a Thomas and was in the area above at about the same time frame, then moved down the river to KY. That connects to the McQueen Reunion that takes place in KY every other year. I keep hoping to attend and still haven't gotten there. there is supposed to be a john that would be the brother to my William 2, and son of William 1. But I don't have anything on them either. They are with the KY bunch.
