Hi Jane: My line of Mc Queen's comes down through Dogal, Thomas, Thomas and Nancy and so forth. Is there a place to get_names dates and locathins on this information.? I am not sure where the land is, but it would be near Pollocraig. I guess there was a hold, but there isn't any road to it now. I would think the deed records would be available. At least that seems to be how John, was able to locate it. either that or the towns people still know of it. Hi I would like to get in touch with John McQueen if possible (In Germany) I am a McQueen, Patricia born Dublin, now living in USA. My father was John McQueen born 1901-1967, his father was Thomas Owen, born Liverpool his father James McQueen born 1848 Mochrum, Wigtown, Scotland. his father Owen McQueen/Queen born Ireland or Kirkinner 1815. his father Owen McQueen born Ireland or Scotland. These two were in the 1841 Mochrum census living at Torhousemuir possibly father and son(not sur) Both listed born Ireland I would like to go back to find their forebears in Scotland or Ireland? any help appreciated? Hi My maiden name was McQueen, born Dublin, Ireland. My line goes back to my gggrandfather Owen Queen born 1780 Ireland. He migrated to Wigtown Scotland possibly with his son Owen (2) born 1815 Owen b. 1815 Ireland or Kirkinner, Wigtown. Owen (2) was ag.lab. in Portwilliam with wife Margaret and five children 1851 Mochrum census. 1861 I found them all in Liverpool, Owen, Margaret, children James, Peter John Margaret and Elizabeth. My direct line from James born 1848 Mochrum, WIG married Ellen Doyle Liverpool 1870, 3 sons Thos.Owen born 1876, Albert born 1871 and Frederick W born 1880 Liverpool. I am sorry, I don't see any thing that hooks up with my family. But, this sight should help you hook up with someone that can help you. Have you tried the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints Family History Library in your area. There is a graeat one next to the Oakland temple. They have all kinds of peaple that work there and can lead you to graat sources that are heald by the chruch. Gail, Since I just started this research for my brother-in-law I can't say for sure that the family tree you posted is his family tree, but it appears to follow the name thread, however, my brother-in-law says his great grantmother was named Mary ANN McQueen rather than Mary JANE McQueen. I believe this is what I found in the census records. Thank you very much for the information you posted which gives me some fleshed out dates and spouses. If you have more on this family we would really appreciate it. I don't believe my brother-in-law knew his great-grandfather was a preacher but somehow there is a legend that they were kin to the McCoy's of Hatfield and McCoy fame. I have being trying to trace my ancestry for many years and found a few leads. There was a Samuel McQueen and Hannah Dugger line that went from NC to the Tennessee. There has been a lot of research done on his line. You might try doing a Google search on them and see if any descendants went to OK and TX. Scott
