I have several Samuels. My people were from Southwestern VA....I knew that! My Samuel was the son of Samuel and Elizabeth McMurry and was born in Sullivan Co TN in 1786. He married Jane Ramey about 1808. He raised his family in Scott Co VA and died there 6 Nov 1858. Jane was born about 1784 in PN. She died between the 1860 and 1870 census. The boundries are all so close together there. It is likely that our McMurrys came from North Carolina. We got the name of his parents from a death record. Someone else had a Samuel and Elizabeth and showed a daughter Mary. Times and places could have made Samuel and Mary brother and sister. Would love to chat with anyone who knows anything more. We'd love to know which Samuel and Elizabeth we came through and where they came from. Lisa
